寶石迷陣3沿用了寶石迷陣2的四個基本模式(當然在畫質和音效上面都有一個極大的提升)，同時和《寶石迷陣2》一樣，會有四個隱藏模式(2代嚴格講是5個)，而且也像Bejeweled Blitz一樣不用等一對徹底消除後才能移動，所以也具有操作上的連貫性，操作起來會很流暢。
